- What is your role at Special Metric Materials?
I started out as a warehouse man, but thanks to Special Metric Materials, I have regained my DQC and Digi Tacho Card, and I’ve also had the opportunity to gain my Combi License, so I’m driving a lot now as well.
- How are you enjoying your role at SMM?
I am very happy with my role at Special Metric Materials. We are much busier than when I first started which can be a challenge but it’s great to see the fast growth of the company. I feel like the warehouse and delivery team is operating smoothly.
- What’s your favourite (and least favourite) day-to-day task?
My favourite task is driving… and I don’t have a least favourite job!
- What is your focus at the moment in your role?
My focus is to keep doing the best I can, and be as vigilant as possible when packing up the orders.
- What does a typical ‘day in the office’ look like?
My days often follow a similar structure – I complete any deliveries that have been scheduled, I pick and pack orders, I carry out inspections, complete any outstanding orders and load the vehicles ready for the next day.
- What do you think the future holds for Special Metric Materials?
I feel like Special Metric Materials is developing every day and growing really well. I’m excited that the current employees will get to grow with it!
- What is your favourite product in the warehouse?
We started stocking press-fit products not long after I started my employment here, and I feel like I know them well, so they’re definitely my favourite!
- What keeps you motivated at work each day? And how do you motivate the rest of the team?
My belief is that if one does well, then we all do well, so we work hard for each other.
- How do you relax after a hard day’s work in the office?
I spend time with my children, relax at home and I enjoy going to the gym!
