Our Hygienic Tube is available in grades 316L & 304L. It is dull polished externally 180 to 240 grit (option for descaled), descaled internally and is bead rolled to create a smooth internal finish. Various lengths are available.

Special Metric Materials stocks hygienic concentric reducing cones. A hygienic concentric reducing cone is used to attach pipes or tubes that are on the same axis, usually as a passage between dissimilar dimensional pressurised pipes.

The sizes of our hygienic concentric reducing cones range from ½” up to 204mm. They are all manufactured from grade 316 stainless steel and are supplied with a dull polished external finish. They comply to BS4825 and come with a bead rolled internal to ensure a smooth internal finish. Custom fitted end connections are available.

Eccentric Reducing Cones:

Special Metric Materials stocks hygienic eccentric reducing cones. A hygienic eccentric reducing cone has a smaller outlet that is off-centre to the larger end. This means it can connect pipes with different dimensions.

The sizes of our hygienic eccentric reducing cones range from ½” up to 204mm. They are all manufactured from grade 316 stainless steel and are supplied with a dull polished external finish. They comply to BS4825 and come with a bead rolled internal to ensure a smooth internal finish. Custom fitted end connections are available.

Tri-clamp Unions provide a smooth internal pipework joint that is useful in hygienic industries as it is a non-contaminating fitting.

The tri-clamp unions in stock at Special Metric Materials consist of two ferrules with a seal in between that are compressed together using a clamp, providing an extremely tight seal.
The tri-clamp unions and seals are manufactured to BS 4825 part 3 in either 304 or 316 stainless steel as standard.

Tri-clamp unions are also popular as they can be easily removed from the pipework by hand using the single hinge clamp wing nut.

RJT Unions (Ring Joint Type) are very common in the UK hygienic industry and are usually seen as the ‘standard’ union.  They are often used within pipework that needs to be regularly dismantled.
